FAQs

What are Wednesdays at New Vision / Saturday at New Vision?

Wednesdays at New Vision: For 6 weeks starting on February 4, we are focusing our energy as a church on being together! On one night (6:00–8:00 PM), we will have the AWANA program for kids, Youth Group for teens, Men’s Groups for men, and Women’s Groups for women. There is something for the whole family!

Saturdays at New Vision: For those who cannot come on Wednesday nights or are serving at AWANA/Youth Group on Wednesday, we are hosting Men’s Groups and Women’s Groups for 6 weeks starting on February 7 at the Encanto Campus from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM. Childcare will be provided.

What if I can't come to Wednesdays at New Vision?

No problem! You are invited to join us on Saturday mornings at the Encanto Campus from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM for Men’s and Women’s Bible Studies. Childcare is provided. There will be no Youth Group provided.

Saturdays: Yes — for ages 1–12.

Will food be provided?

AWANA / Child Care: Light snacks

Women's & Men's Groups: You are encouraged to bring a snack to share

Rev7 Youth Group: light dinner

What should I expect at the Men’s and Women’s Groups?

Expect to be welcomed as family, have fun, learn more about God, and be challenged to grow in your faith.

What if I have kids in AWANA and teens in Youth Group?

Our youth leaders will be at the Encanto Campus ready to receive students at 5:30 PM and will hang out with them after Youth Group until 8:30 PM. This allows families to drop off their teen at Encanto, then proceed to City Heights for AWANA/Men’s/Women’s Groups — and do the reverse for pick-up.

What is the AWANA program?

AWANA is an incredible discipleship program where kids have fun and learn about the Bible.

Youth Group / AWANA

What is changing with AWANA and Youth Group?

Youth Group: The biggest change is that Youth Group will be moving from Tuesday night to Wednesday night. The location will remain the Encanto Campus, and the time will continue to be 6:00–8:00 PM.

AWANA: AWANA is largely staying the same; however, the middle school and high school programs (Trek and Journey) will be folded into the Youth Ministry at the Encanto Campus on Wednesday nights.

Why are we changing Youth Group from Tuesday to Wednesday?

There are many reasons, but the primary reason is to simplify schedules for our families. Rather than occupying two nights a week with student ministries, we want to free up an extra evening for families to attend a Life Group — or simply spend time together.

How will Trek/Journey be folded into Youth Group?

We value the Trek and Journey programs and their role in students’ discipleship and growth with God. We will designate time and space during Youth Group for all Trek/Journey participants to review their bookwork and verses. We believe they will get the best of both worlds.

Are we continuing the Trek/Journey program?

Yes — however, it will now take place during Youth Group at the Encanto Campus on Wednesday nights instead of at AWANA at the City Heights Campus.

When are these changes being made?

Youth Group will move from Tuesday night to Wednesday night — along with the Trek/Journey transition — starting Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

What time do Youth Group and AWANA start and end on Wednesday nights?

Both meet from 6:00–8:00 PM.

What if I have kids in AWANA and teens in Youth Group?

Our youth leaders will be at the Encanto Campus ready to receive students at 5:30 PM and will remain with them until 8:30 PM. This allows families to drop off their teen at Encanto, then proceed to City Heights for AWANA — and do the reverse for pick-up.

What if I serve at AWANA but have a teen who wants to attend Youth Group?

Every Wednesday night, we have a van transporting students from City Heights to Encanto for Youth Group. We will reserve 10 seats for teens whose families are serving at Awana.

The van will:

  • Depart City Heights at 5:55 PM
  • Return to City Heights at 8:20 PM

Please let Pastor Carmelo and Marysol know if your teen plans to use the ride.

What do I need to remember?

We — the Student Ministry Team — want you to know how much we love you, your child, and your teen. It is the love of Christ that compels us (2 Corinthians 5:14) to invest our lives into your family. We are not perfect, but our hearts are sincere! If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact Pastor Brent, Pastor Carmelo, or Marysol.
