Blessed Hope

“For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven,”

II Corinthians 5:1-2

Every morning I feel the groaning of my heavenly habitation! What I mean by that is...I can feel my age! The older I get, the more I understand that this body is temporary, meaning it’s short lived.

Every day men and women try to cover up the effects of old age. We put on cologne and perfume to hide the smell. Women, put on makeup to hide the wrinkles and dark circles under their eyes. Men wear larger clothes to hide the one pack. We are fighting a losing battle. This body is made for the temporal, not the eternal. That’s why it’s called a tent. This body is made from the first Adam.

But there is a day coming when we will be clothed in our heavenly habitation! Our new bodies will be made to fit heaven. It will be our eternal bodies made by the second Adam, Jesus Christ. This body will not decay or wear out! This is our blessed hope. We are heaven bound! So let’s be heavenly minded about our future!
